Why does the last day of the school holidays go so fast? We've had a lovely two weeks but I think the kids are both really looking forward to going back tomorrow. We always like to do something really fun on the last day of the school holidays but Miss Frugal's feet are still bad and she wasn't up to walking anywhere today so we decided to stay home and enjoy the weather in the back garden by having a barbecue. Now I'm sure we bought a barbecue in the sales at the end of last Summer but I couldn't find it anywhere today when we were looking for it so we ended up using some of those … [Read more...]
Dominoes…. Or Snap….
Our Easter holidays have been rudely interrupted by a verruca infection! I took Miss Frugal to the Dr's a while back as she had three verrucas that just weren't going away, he said they would go eventually and there was nothing else he could do as they don't believe in referring children to the podiatrist unless it is severe. We decided to make a story telling game as Miss Frugal is learning about descriptive words at school this week and I thought this might help.We made the story cards by cutting some A4 Sheets of card into quarters. Next we cut some images off the front of my birthday cards from last week, things like a butterfly, a sheep, a pig, some flowers and a loveheart and then glued an image on to each piece of card.We didn't have enough pictures for all of our cards so … [Read more...]
