I love some of the things kids say, Miss Frugal has just seen an advert on TV for personal loans and asked if she could get one so that she could buy the new doll she is after. The doll she wants is a baby version of one she already has! Just when I thought we had every type of doll on the market - we have one who crawls and has tantrums, one who poos and cries, one who's ill and cries, one who swims, and her all time favourite - the one that does nothing and cost about a fiver.Anyway to cut a long story short, we've decided to introduce a reward … [Read more...]
Ice-creams and Vegetables….
We've had a lovely day today in the sunshine,a nice relaxing morning followed by a trip to the park, a visit to the beach and topped off with ice creams. It might be a good idea here to point out that he trapped his middle finger in a gate at the park which is why he has it stuck up....The picture quality isn't too good as we were using Mr Frugal's I phone but they're actually better quality than I thought they would be. We've also finally got around to planting our vegetable pots - we have carrots, brocolli and tomatoes although we're probably going to get a few more tomorrow if we … [Read more...]
Teddy Bear’s Picnic….
Despite the fact that it's not exactly picnic weather outside, Miss Frugal has decided to have a teddy bears picnic in the back garden. She's out there with her favourite teddy bears and some chocolate spread sandwiches trying to look like she's not freezing cold. I think she's trying to catch the attention of the little girl who lives out the back of us but she's having no luck so far bless her.My sensible little boy has decided to have his picnic indoors as apparently his teddies wanted to watch Ben 10 they ate their sandwiches. … [Read more...]
Story cards….
After the fun we had making and playing our Razzle Dazzle board game we decided to try our hand at another game tonight. We decided to make a story telling game as Miss Frugal is learning about descriptive words at school this week and I thought this might help.We made the story cards by cutting some A4 Sheets of card into quarters. Next we cut some images off the front of my birthday cards from last week, things like a butterfly, a sheep, a pig, some flowers and a loveheart and then glued an image on to each piece of card.We didn't have enough pictures for all of our cards so … [Read more...]
Bored, Bored, Board….
Miss Frugal was in one of those bored moods this afternoon after she came back from her friends house. You know the type of mood, where you can't be bothered to do anything. She said no everything I suggested we do - until I came up with the idea that we should make our own board game.(Check out the play on words in the title, not bad for a Sunday afternoon)It took longer to think of a name for the game than it did to make the thing but in the end she decided it was going to be called the 'Razzle Dazzle Game'.We started by sellotaping four pieces of coloured … [Read more...]
Is this Normal….?
You might remember that Miss Frugal made friend last week with the girl (I'll call her M) who lives in the house behind ours (here). Even though the house backs on to ours, it's about a five minue walk to get round the front so since then they have been playing together but each in their own garden if you see what I mean.Anyway, today M has asked Miss Frugal to go round and play with her and some of her friends, which would be fine but they are playing in the street, not in the house! It's a really quiet cul de sac with four of the houses not even occupied yet so … [Read more...]
