We have just spent the last hour or so drawing round our hands on green paper and cutting out the shapes. Why? So we could make a hand print Christmas tree of course! All you do, when you have cut out about 3 million hand prints, is glue them to a piece of card in the shape of a Christmas tree. Add a star at the top and voila, a handy tree to hang. Now on to the cotton wool snowmen!!! … [Read more...]
Meet Pattie….
When it started to snow last night we decided to go out and play - even though it was cold and dark and the kids were already in their pyjama's! After all, its not very often that it snows like that and usually when it does, either the kids are at school or I'm at work. When everyone was dressed in about 6 layers of clothes we ventured out (well, I say everyone but Mr Frugal decided to join in the fun by standing in the warm and watching out of the window). After being hit by a few random snowballs when the kids managed to aim right, we decided to make a snowman and Pattie was born.I have no … [Read more...]

Salt Dough Decorations….
After watching Kirsty's homemade Christmas last week i felt inspired to make some salt dough decorations of our own. Now before we started I had my usual Domestic Goddess visions where I pictured our decorations as stunning works of art! All you do is mix half a cup of salt and a whole cup of flour and then slowly add one whole cup of water to the mix. You (or the kids) need to then knead the mix for 10 minutes - don't miss this stage out as … [Read more...]
School Visit….
I have had a lovely day today, all of the parents were invited into school to do some activities with the kids so both me and Mr Frugal managed to finish work early to go. Master Frugal had sports all afternoon so we spent the whole afternoon with Miss Frugal in her classroom. There were different activities set out on each table and we chose to make some Christmas tree decorations and to write a Christmas poem. Miss Frugal was really proud of hers and read it out to anyone who would listen:I love ChristmasI love presentsMerry ChristmasTo everyoneIt didn't have to rhyme but each line had to … [Read more...]
Making Decorations….
I popped to B&Q; earlier on today and they are have reduced a lot of their Christmassy things, to be honest I was a but dissappointed with the range as I don't think they are stocking nearly as much as last Christmas but I was pleasantly surprised at the sale they had on. I didn't really go to look at the Christmas stuff, I went for some wallpaper inspiration but while I was there it would have been rude not to have a look wouldn't it?I found some plain white felt christmas tree ornaments reduced to 24p so I bought four thinking that the kids would have a bit of fun colouring them in.However, … [Read more...]
