In anticipation of my freezer clear out this week I am making some bolognaise sauce to be frozen for some quick dinners when I am back at work next week.I haven't bought anything in especially to make this, I have just used what was already in the freezer and I am trying to make it without the help of a bolognaise sauce packet mix!To save on time, I have just thrown all the ingredients in the slow cooker and now it's going to quietly bubble away all day without any help from me. When its done, will let it cool and portion it up for the freezer.Super Quick and Easy Spaghetti Bolognaise … [Read more...]
This weeks meal plan….
This is my menu plan for the week. I usually do my weeks plan on a Friday ready for shopping on a Saturday but I am a bit late this week as we have had a houseguest staying with us this week. I try and get Miss Frugal to do it with me to help her with her writing and to have fun in the kitchen with her as I really want to encourage her to learn to cook and to enjoy being in the kitchen with me. This weeks plan is very bitsy as I am trying to use up all of the little bits in the cupboards and the freezer and I thought that with me being off work again this was the ideal week to use up the odds … [Read more...]

If anyone has a better recipe or method that they want to share with me, please feel free.... … [Read more...]

Homemade ice lolly recipes (for kids and for grown ups)….
Its so hot outside isn’t it?Normally in this weather we spend a fortune on ice creams and ice lollies for the kids but I've decided that this summer we'll make our own ice lollies. This should not only save a fortune but our own lollies will be much healthier (in theory ;-)).Homemade Ice Lolly Ideas for the kids Not an ice lolly as such but you could freeze bananas, either in or out of their skins. Try freezing some Angel delight in lolly moulds, as we've done in the rocket lolly moulds above. You can freeze those little fromage frais pots, pop a lolly stick in the pot before you … [Read more...]
