I have just made macaroni cheese from scratch for the first time and everyone (even Master Frugal) loved it! Meal 2 – Stretching the Ham Joint….
Here's meal 2 that I have made out of the ham joint. I used the water that I boiled the ham in and added a chopped onion, 4 carrots and 2 biggish potatoes. Quick Slimming World Meal….
Mmmm, I have just made a super quick Quorn chilli that is free on Slimming World and yummy enough for anyone.All I did was mix a tin of baked beans with a tin of tomatoes in a pan. I added some Quorn chunks that I had in the freezer and a bit of chilli powder and then just let it all cook for about 10 minutes. I couldn't be bothered to cook rice (it always sticks to my pan) so I just put it on top of a jacket spud and topped it with some fat free fromage frais...... It was gorgeous. … [Read more...]
Healthy Lunches for Work….
Now that I am back at work and on Slimming world, I need to sort out my lunches. The canteen at work is ridiculously priced and there is nothing else near to where I work so I have spent a fortune in there in the past. I now need to make and take frugal lunches that are yummy, filling, frugal and slimming....I regularly don't get away from my desk to eat and as I work with a computer I have been suffering from eye strain and headaches - to the point where I thought I needed glasses. Recipe for Cheese Straws
I have made a small batch of cheese straws now and the kids are in the middle of eating their second one so I am guessing that they are a success and that I need to make a bigger batch to freeze for school dinners.
