Seeing as Miss Frugal's hasn't got home from last nights sleepover yet, we decided to take Master Frugal to the car boot sale this afternoon to buy him some treats to cheer him up a bit and we couldn't have picked a better day to go - loads of stalls and not many visitors We got two 'awesome' Spiderman cars for him for 50p each, Spiderman on a bike (that lights up, makes noise AND moves) for 50p, a batman on a bike and a batman moster truck for 50p, a bag full of knights (for the Knights castle we bought a few weeks ago) for £1.00 and a free pirates ship as the man wasn't wanting to take … [Read more...]
This weeks Bargains….
As part of my home makeover resolution for this year, I've decided to make a photo wall with all my favourite photo's, so I spent most of last night scouring ebay for photo frames and I'm going on a charity shop hunt for some more tomorrow. I want all the photo frames to be white and pretty rather than just the usual plain frames you get so I'm really pleased with the ones I've got so far: I know you might think that £30.00 for the frames isn't really a bargain but the wall is going to be a big feature and although I can add to it with other bargains that I pick up, I wanted to get it off … [Read more...]

I've finally managed to find this lovely bookcase for a bargain £8.00 on Ebay. The cut out hearts on the bottom shelf are repeated on the other shelves and down the side too. The … [Read more...]
Operation Makeover: I found my first project….
Operation Makeover is now officially underway and seeing as I've found some lovely bargains this week, I though I'd share them with you as part of Magpie Monday ;-)I managed to find a new first project (after losing out on the lovely sideboard I won on ebay last week) and I think it's going to look brilliant when it's done. I'm going to sand it all down as I don't really like dark wood and then paint it in a creamy colour I think. I might even change the handles on it if I'm feeling really adventurous. Inspired by Jen, I went on a charity shop hunt for a glass cake stand and was … [Read more...]
Let the Shabby Chicness Begin….
One of my New Years Resolutions was to start to decorate my house to turn it from the neutral new build that it currently is into a lovely home for my family. My taste seems to have changed so much since I had the kids and I've gone from wanting everything matching and perfect to wanting a much more relaxed shabby chic style. I'm so pleased that the lovely Jen from the Madhouse popped round the other night because she completely gets what style I'm going for and has given me some great ideas. I had tried to explain what I wanted to Mr Frugal and he just didn't get it. I ended up … [Read more...]
