We’ve discussed a few times that I’m not great with crafts but this is one of my all time favourite Christmas crafts so I thought I’d share it with you again today as part of my Activity Advent series.
It’s our lovely hand tree which is now on it’s fourth (I think) Christmas . It’s really easy to make but it is faffy and by the time you’re finished, your hands feel like they’re going to seize up due to all the cutting but it’s worth it….
All you need is some green paper (lots of), a large sheet of paper or card and some coloured card to make a star for the top of the tree.
We got everyone in the family involved drawing around each others hands on the green paper and then cutting the hand shapes out. The more you have, the better it looks!
When you have plenty of hands cut out, you need to cut a triangle shape the size you want your tree to be – it gets completely covered so you can use several pieces of paper of card stuck together or even some flattened cereal boxes.
Next, start sticking the hands to the bottom of the tree making sure that the overlap each other and the fingers hang over the edges to make it look more Christmas tree like.
Work your way up the triangle and when you’re done, cut out and decorate a star to stick to the top.
It looks lovely doesn’t it?
