I love a good pre-loved bargain, whether it’s from a charity shop, the car boot sale or even from somewhere online so I thought I’d start a bit of a monthly round-up of some of the pre-loved bargains that I buy each month. We’ve had a couple of month’s break due to the most recent lockdown but I’m back with some January bargains!
OK, I’m going to start with the pre-loved purchase that I suspect will have some people shaking their head in disgust but please bear with me… I treated myself after working a lot of overtime last year – most of the money I earned from the extra hours was spend wisely but I did have a few splurges that weren’t the most sensible but hey ho!
Let me introduce you to my little vintage Prada clutch bag…
I bought this little beauty second hand on a site called Vestiaire which is a website who I can only describe as a kind of eBay for designer goods. Anytime you buy something, the seller sends it via Vestiaire so they can authenticate it before forwarding on to you as the buyer.
The photo isn’t great as I took it on a grey Winter’s day but it’s such a pretty little bag and I know I’ll use it loads when I’m actually allowed to go out again!
My next little pre-loved bargain is the prettiest little dress that I bought for £2.00 from our local Barnardos. I think it was even cheaper than usual as it was in the tops and t-shirts section but it’s definitely a dress – and a very pretty one at that.
It’s got the prettiest sleeves and a tie detail at the neck around the back. I’ve taken a photo of one of the sleeves to see if I can get you a better look at the bell style and the little ruffle but I’m still not convinced you can see how pretty it is!
Next up is another dress (surprise surprise) but this one isn’t flowery for a change. 😂. This one’s from Primark and cost me £3 which is probably not that much less than I would have paid for it brand new!
It’s a mustard colour with a swirly pattern all over it and is more or a shirt style than my usual swing style but it looked so cute on the hanger with the pretty bow at the neck that I just couldn’t resist.
I know I buy dresses more than anything else but I do love wearing dresses even when they’re not the most practical thing to wear. I didn’t used to but then I discovered Snag tights (not sponsored in any way) which are basically higher waisted so they never roll down like lots of tights have done in the past over my tummy. The do larger sizes and all sorts of colours – they even do a short person size for people like me. I have loads of the black 70 denier pairs, some of the footless ones and a couple of the coloured pairs and they mean that I can confidently wear dresses as my daily uniform.
Hopefully, I’ll be back next month with more pre-loved bargains.
