You all know that I love a good pre-loved bargain, whether it’s from a charity shop, the car boot sale or even from somewhere online and this is my monthly post to share some of my bargains with you!
I know I say this pretty much every month but I genuinely love buying second-hand (here are 8 reasons why I think buying second-hand clothes is the future) and this month’s little haul has made me super happy as usual as I got lots of great bargains!
I already shared these boots in a five frugal things post a couple of weeks ago but they’re such a fab buy that I’m going to share them again… I bought them from Vinted for £4 (plus postage of a couple of pounds I think) and they are PERFECT. They’re such a good fit and they’re so comfortable that I wore them on a Christmas night out with the green dress underneath.
The dress was £4 and there is no way that the photo does it justice as it’s absolutely beautiful.
This is quite possibly the worst photo ever as it’s taken in my spare room which we use as a bit of a dressing room so it has loads of clothes in and the mirror had just been treated to a spray of Batiste when I was doing my hair so it looks like it needs a good old clean. It also isn’t a good picture of the dress itself as it was taken for the sole purpose of me sending a photo to Miss Frugal asking if it was too short for me to wear. 😂
I did say I was going to try and include more pictures of me wearing the clothes I’d bought though so this is like baby steps for me…
The next top I bought was from Vinted for £4 thinking I could wear it as a jumper dress but it’s a bit short for that. I still love it though and it’s perfect with a pair of leggings – the sleeves are quite unusual with a bit of shape to them.
This next top is one that I didn’t like as much as I thought I was going to when I bought it off Vinted. It’s a Roman jumper which I paid £3 for which is a total bargain for such a lovely top but it’s not what I expected as the description said it was a jumper dress and it really isn’t due to the slits up the side which definitely make it unwearable as a dress as they go way too high for that. It’s still pretty as a jumper with lovely lace detailing on the sleeves but I’m just not sure I’m going to wear it as a jumper so it might be going right back on Vinted.
(I can’t even find where I’ve put the jumper now which tells you how much I don’t love it – these are the pictures off Vinted)
And this next dress is perfect for Winter with a pair of thick tights and boots – it’s a plain black linen shirt dress from Ann Harvey that I bought for £2 and I absolutely love how simple it is.
And finally, I bought a belt for a couple of pounds that looks perfect with lots of my dresses as it pulls them in really well. It’s so comfortable to wear as it’s an elasticated fabric with a pretty buckle on the front. I kind of wish it was black rather than tan though but it’ll definitely do until I find the perfect belt. It looks fab with the black shirt dress above too!
Another thing I say each month but when I buy things off Vinted, I try and only use money that I’ve made from things that I’ve sold so either things that I’ve bought to sell on or things from my wardrobe that I know I won’t wear again so I rarely pay actual money for anything you see that I’ve bought from there.
I also have a one in, one out policy so if I buy something to add to my wardrobe then I sell on Vinted or add something to the pile to donate to the charity shop near where I live.
Hopefully, I’ll be back next month with more pre-loved bargains.
And don’t forget, if you can’t get out to wander around your local charity shops then have a look at my favourite online charity shops! And if you want to learn how to sell on Vinted then I have just the post for you!
