Why is it on cold dark nights like we’re having at the minute, when you just want to come home and snuggle on the settee with a mug of hot chocolate, we seem to have more planned than usual? Answers on the back of a postcard please!
Another busy week coming up this week for us so if we have any hopes of eating properly, the slow cooker is going to be earning it’s keep over the next few days.
Sunday – We finally got around to trying the pulled pork recipe this week and it was totally worth the wait! I’ll be blogging the recipe later in the week when the new recipe linky that I’ll be running with the lovely Emma from Crazy with Twins is launched. I hope you’ll be joining in with us each week when we share tried and tested recipes in #CookitBlogit.
Monday – I bought more reduced price minced beef the other day but I’m not going to try and use it all in one week like I did last time. I’m going to make a bit of minced beef and onions in the slow cooker today so it’ll be ready to serve with some Yorkshire puds and veg for tea.
Tuesday – Slow cooker chicken curry tonight as I think we’re out straight from school and not sure what time we’ll be back. We’ll use this recipe as a base.
Wednesday – Homemade paella tonight with chicken and chorizo – I don’t think we’ll bother with prawns as they’re a bit expensive and Mr Frugal only picks them out of his portion anyway!
Thursday – Spaghetti carbonara tonight – quick and easy!
Friday – We’re supposed to be going out for tea tonight with some friends so I’ll be having a night off cooking.
Saturday – Although pulled pork has been requested again, I think it’s more likely that I’ll just do a chilli in the slow cooker as we’re out for the day and I know that a chilli will be ready for us when we come home.
Sunday – Toad in the hole seeing as it’s National Yorkshire Pudding day!
