Today, I popped into town with Miss Frugal to track down some reasonably priced thermals ready for when she goes skiing with the school next month and although we didn’t manage to find thermals, I did manage to pick up some quite good little beauty bargains that I thought you might be interested in.
Tanya Burr Cosmetics Bargains
I’ve heard good things about the Tanya Burr lipsticks so when I saw them reduced from £6.99 to 99p in our local Superdrug I was all over it! I went for ‘Sunday Walk’ and because I loved it so much and it was such a bargain, I bought two. It’s a lovely nude colour and feels very moisturising on my lips.
I also bought an eye palette reduced from £6.00 to £1.49 which has four shades that I will definitely use – to be fair though, I probably would have paid that for just the mirror that comes in the palette as it’s a lovely little magnifying one that will be really handy when I’m away from home.
Twist and Spritz Bargains from House of Fraser
Miss Frugal and I both use these fragrance atomisers because they’re so much easier to pop in your bag than a big bottle of perfume. They also hide the perfume you’re wearing if you’re mildly embarrassed that one of your favourite perfume happens to be the One Direction perfume which comes in a huge girly bottle. 😉
If you’re not sure what they are, they’re basically little mini bottles that you fill with your favourite perfume (you just transfer from your existing bottle easily using the spray attachment) and pop that in your handbag instead of carrying the big bottle of perfume.
They’re usually £12 each but the offer that was on in House of Fraser was 2 for £20 but they had an extra 20% off flash sale so that made them 2 for £16 which was great as it was but they also had another offer on where they would fill them with any perfume in the department absolutely free. So for £16 we got 2 fragrance atomisers – one filled with the new Armani Si Passione and the other with the limited edition Marc Jacobs Daisy perfume.
When we worked out the cost per ml the Si Passione is around £49 for 30ml so the 8ml that we got in the bottle is worth £13 alone. The Daisy is a little bit cheaper at around £65 for 75ml but even that works out at around £7 for the perfume. The atomisers will be used over and over so I’m super pleased with our bargains – and we have 8ml each of perfumes that are more expensive than we’d usually pay so that’s an extra special treat!
(I’ve just noticed on the flyer for the 20% off was from the Perfume shop so it looks like the deal was from their concession stand in House of Fraser rather than House of Fraser itself)
Loreal Infallible Beauty Bargains
I’m not a huge make-up wearer but I am finding myself with more and more occasions that are a bit too fancy for just my basic makeup which consists of Benefit They’re Real mascara and Rimmel InstaFlawless tinted primer. I’m trying to get better and learn some new makeup skills – I now own actual foundation, eyeshadow colours that actually have some colour in them and I even have eyeliner. Miss Fugal assured me that I need some primer so I popped into Boots to grab some and found that the Loreal make up was all on 3 for 2 and as I bought two of the primers (you can layer them up apparently) I also got a beauty blender which is a mystery to me at the moment but Miss Frugal tells me it’s going to revolutionise my makeup application routine. 😉 So I bought two primers and got some setting spray (another essential according to Miss Frugal) and a beauty blender for free. The offer is online here too but I can’t see that you get the beauty blender if you buy online.
