This virtual scavenger hunt for kids is just what you need to help your children stay in touch with their friends during the madness that we’re living in right now.
I have two teenagers who are struggling with Lockdown 3.0 and they at least have a good understanding of why we’re having to stay at home and not see our friends and family. I can’t even imagine what it must be like for younger children who won’t really understand the reasons behind it.
My two are able to keep in touch with their friends on Snapchat, Instagram and on Xbox and genuinely, if they weren’t able to do that then I think it would be a whole different ball game here. They’re spending more time than usual with their phones or an Xbox controller in their hands but we’re getting through it however we can and I love that they can stay in contact with their friends – it’s not the same as face to face in any way but it’s absolutely better than nothing!
I don’t know what I’d have done to get them through if they’d been younger and hadn’t been able to do this so I’m sending a virtual high five (and a hug) to any of you struggling through the latest Lockdown with youngsters.
I was wondering if this virtual scavenger hunt might help you?
I was having a think about what I’d do if my two were younger and I think I would have got in touch with a couple of the school mums and set up regular Zoom calls for them and their friends to keep them happy. My two both had a close group of friends throughout school so they would have been quite happy just to chat away on Zoom and play games like this virtual scavenger hunt.
You could take it in turns with the other mums to do some sort of activity whether it’s something like this or a little fun quiz and I guarantee your kids will thank you for it.
