I’m really pleased to share with you that I’ll be joining in with Wednesday’s Wardrobe each week along with the very lovely Emma and the also very lovely Sarah. I hope to be sharing lots of clothes bargains with you and also getting the kids involved a little bit to show you their favourite clothes!
First up Miss Frugal….
As the parent of a headstrong 12 year old who has (and always has since being a toddler) very strong opinions on the clothes that she does and doesn’t like to wear.
Although I know there are some of you who will no doubt say that I’m the parent and what I say should go but personally, I think there are no doubt going to be bigger battles to be fought as we make our way through the teen years so I don’t try to control what she wears in any way (although I would step in if the clothes were inappropriate).
I love her individual tastes so, for my first Wednesday’s Wardrobe post, I thought I’d share with you what she wore for her last non-uniform day at school.
We bought the dress from a shop called Bank which I *think* is closing down unfortunately but it was amazing value reduced from £35 to £7 and although I don’t think I could get away with that pattern, I think she looks fab in it paired with a pair of footless tights that we bought from New Look for £1.
She definitely stood out from everyone else in her class in jeans and leggings and I’m really proud that she’s not afraid to wear what she wants to wear – even if it means she’s going to stand out from the crowd.
And now for her younger brother….
Master Frugal is not quite as individual in his tastes although he does get very stuck in his ways where clothes are concerned. He would quite happily where the same outfit continuously until I tell him he needs to get changed so I have to sneak in to his room on a night to spirit away any dirty clothes – if I didn’t do this, he’s just put them on again…. And again.
We were recently asked to choose some clothes for him to try from M&M Direct and he took great pleasure trawling through the No Fear section to choose himself some clothes. When they came, the shorts and the tracksuit bottoms are a little bit big for him (despite us buying his size) so he’s going to need to grow into them but everything else is a winner!
He loves everything and from my point of view, I think they’re really good quality and very good value for money.
We’d love to see what your children have been wearing this week? Why don’t you link up with us by adding your link below….
