Welcome to this week’s Wednesday’s Wardrobe!
Wednesday’s Wardrobe is a weekly linky that I’ll be co-hosting along with two fantastic bloggers, Emma and Sarah and Miss Frugal especially is really enjoying working on these posts together each week.
In the last year or so, I’ve developed a bit of a love for all things Orla Kiely which doesn’t necessarily sit well with my frugal side. I think her designs are beautiful and I spent most of last year drooling over some of her bag designs and going backwards and forwards between really wanting to treat myself and realising that there was better things that I could do with the money instead.
But then at the end of the year, I was given the chance to choose one all for myself (not for a review or anything like that but someone I did something nice for wanted to do something nice back) so I spent ages choosing and in the end, my frugal side chose one of the cheaper bags in her range – even that cost £70.00!
I do love my little bag though and I often use it, although as you can see it’s quite small with no pockets so it’s more of a bag for when I don’t need to take much out with me.
Now, fast forward to last week and I was asked to review the website Achica and given a £50 voucher to spend on there. Just look at what I found:
It’s a beautiful bag and has all the space and pockets that I could need but even better than that, it was an absolute bargain at £55! Not a bargain in the frugal sense but certainly a bargain if you consider that the same bags are £119 on sites like John Lewis.
It just shows you that it pays to shop around when you want something – the larger bag costs almost double the price of the travel bag but I managed to get a great deal on it so it ended up actually costing less.
So now I have two of the Orla Kiely bags I was so in love with….
I’m really pleased that I chose the bag I did but if I’m honest, it was a difficult decision because there were so many great promotions on Achica at the time I was looking. I was torn between this bag, a soup making machine, some picnic accessories and a great canvas for my living room wall but in the end, Orla won!
In case you’ve never seen Achica before, it’s a website that offers premium brands at discounted prices. Which in real terms means they offer great deals on things from lots of different brands that we all know and love. You can sign up using my referral code here if you want to or you could just go straight to Achica if you would prefer.
What about you, have you splashed out on something you love recently?
