Welcome to this week’s Wednesday’s Wardrobe!
Wednesday’s Wardrobe is a weekly linky that I’ll be co-hosting along with two fantastic bloggers, Emma and Sarah.
Usually my Wednesday’s Wardrobe posts are focused on Miss Frugal – mainly because she has more clothes than any of us put together and has a genuine interest in clothes and make-up (as most girls do at her age I suppose) but this week it’s all about her little brother who wanted to share his favourite shirt with us all….
(Apologies for the awful picture, Miss Frugal took it to send to me at work the day he got the shirt)
You might remember that I wrote a post about the ridiculous price of football shirts last year, aptly titled Greed! I think that football shirts are ridiculously over-priced and football clubs are well aware that fans (and parents of fans) are prepared to pay a small fortune so they can show their support to their club by wearing the kit.
I haven’t changed my views and I personally that £45 for a football shirt is a complete waste of money but luckily for Master Frugal, he has a football loving Grandad who understands better than I do what it’s like to want to wear your club’s shirt. Grandad very generously bought Master Frugal the shirt and I can’t describe (a) how grateful Master Frugal was to be getting the shirt and (b) how pleased he was when he got to put it on for the first time.
He’s pretty much worn it since he got it and now that Boro have made it to the play-off finals, it’s even more treasured.
And, I suspect he’d going to love it even more after he goes to Wembley in it next week although he still doesn’t quite believe me when I say I’ve bought tickets for him and Mr Frugal to go.
Let’s face it, as a Boro fan he may not have another chance to see them at Wembley for a long time to come. 😉
This is the moment we told him….
#speechless #boro #wembley The piece of paper says ‘you’re going to Wembley on Monday to see boro play in the play off final’
Do your children have a favourite item of clothing? I’d love to hear about it….
