Welcome to Wednesday’s Wardrobe! In case you missed me telling you last week, Wednesday’s Wardrobe is a weekly linky that I’ll be hosting with two fantastic bloggers, Emma and Sarah. I hope to be sharing lots of clothes bargains with you over the coming weeks but today I want to talk to you about the cost of clothes.
I know people who spend a fortune on clothes for their children and whilst I don’t necessarily think they’re wrong for doing so (their money, their choice), I do know that you definitely don’t need to spend much money to make sure your children look and feel great in what they’re wearing.
People might think that I spend a lot on clothes for Miss Frugal because she (nearly) always looks really well dressed (in my opinion anyway) but I actually spend very little on her because what we do buy is usually a bargain!
Look at this outfit for example. It’s her favourite dress and was bought from a car boot sale for £2.50 if I remember rightly. It was brand new when we got in and still had the tags on and six months on, it’s still her favourite dress….
She’s been wearing it today to go into town with her friends where she spent her pocket money on bath bombs and pyjama shorts. And yes, she did wear it with those grubby shoes! 😉
Another bargain that she’s been wearing this week is her shorts play-suit which we bought for £7 or £8 in Bank before our local branch closed down a few weeks ago….
So there’s two outfits from this week that cost around £10 between them.
We also find that eBay is a great source of bargains – these three outfits (one Topshop, one Boohoo and one River Island) came to around £13 in total….
Apart from the River Island dress (the one in the middle which is now in the car boot sale pile) she still wears the others quite often so all money well spent. These photos were taken last July and I can’t believe how much sh’s changed in that short space of time!
There’s lots of other places to find clothes bargains online – here’s a few of our favourites though.
Happy Bargain Hunting.
