Quick First Aid test for you…..
What should you do if your child falls over and scrapes their knee?
a) Pick them up and give them a hug.
b) Tell them they’ll be fine and get back to Twitter.
c) Tell them they should have been more careful and send them back to play.
d) Place a wet paper towel over their knee and tell them to hold it there for five minutes.
What should you do if your children bang heads and one of them develops a rather large bump on their forehead?
a) Pop an ice pack on the bump.
b) Get them a mirror so they can see the egg on their head.
c) Shout at the other one as it was obviously their fault.

What’s the best way to deal with a stubbed toe?
a) Swear very loudly until the pain starts to subside.
b) Bandage your toe up and limp round the house trying to get as much sympathy as possible.

You may be surprised to learn that the simple first aid solution for each of the above scenarios is:

Or at least that’s what my children’s school think which means that whenever anything happens in our house, one or both kids rush for a wet paper towel. I had a sneezing fit earlier on and Master Frugal brought me a wet paper towel (actually, toilet roll as we don’t have paper towels lol) to make me all better.
