Miss Frugal’s party is a week on Sunday so I am starting to plan the finer details of it now. She gave out the invites yesterday at school and so far we have 10 definites, we are waiting for about another 20 to get back to us. I reckon that I am going to be looking at about 25 kids, which would be good as that’s how many party bags the entertainer includes in his price. Any others are £1.50 each….
The entertainment side of things is sorted as the entertainer we have hired will do a 45 miniute magic show and will then sit them all down for something to eat, while they’re eating he will do balloon modelling and then he will fill the rest of the two hours with a disco. So really the only thing that I need to do is the food. I am going to cater for 30 I think just to be on the safe side.
These are my ideas so far:
Party sausage rolls
Ham Sandwiches
Tuna Sandwiches
Egg Sandwiches
Mini Hot Dogs
Fairy Cakes
Grapes
Crisps
Mini Pizzas
Crispie cakes
Budget – very approximate
Sausage rolls – 2 packs of 50 – £3.00
Bread buns – Asda do packs of nine small buns for about 50p – £3.00
Ham – £2.00
Eggs – £1.00
Tuna – £1.50
Mini Hot dogs – £2.00
Fairy Cakes – Dont laugh but I am going to get ready made ones from Morrissons and just decorate them myself. – 2 packs of 24 – £2.50
Grapes – £3.00
Crisps – £2.00
Mini Pizza’s – £1.50
Crispie cakes – £1.00 to make
Drinks will be value fizzy pop and big jugs of squash….
I know its not very frugal and I could do more home made stuff but I think that I will have enough to do with getting everything sorted without that.
I am not sure what to do about the Birthday cake though…. the only one I have seen bug enough for that many kids is a photo one from Asda and that one will cost £14.99. I don’t have a big tin to use to bake my own so I am not sure what to do yet. I have one of my Domestic Goddess visions which involves me making the perfect princess cake that everyone looks at and immediately bows to my domestic prowess… Dare I try to make one?
Just off to check e bay for a suitable cake mould…. just in case 😉
