We’re in week two of the Easter Holidays here and as I predicted last week, the school holidays played havoc with the meals I had planned. We didn’t even have the traditional Easter Sunday roast as we were having too much fun in the garden to come in and make it. I’m almost embarrassed to admit that it was replaced by a picnic lunch and fish finger sandwiches for tea. 😉
Anyway, let’s see if we can stick to this week’s plan….
Monday
I’m trying to make homemade Doner Kebab for tea tonight which could go either way. If it works, I’ll share the recipe and if it doesn’t, then it will no doubt be macaroni cheese instead!
Added: It worked – here you go.
Tuesday
I have the gammon joint that we were planning to eat yesterday to use up so I think we’ll have a bit of a roast dinner on Tuesday. I’m at work until 2.30 so I’ll get Miss Frugal to put this in the slow cooker for me in the morning and get Mr Frugal to do the Yorkshires.
Wednesday
I’m at work until late so I suspect the usual Wednesday night easy tea as Mr Frugal will be cooking – I suspect it will be an easy tea like last week which ended up being cheese and ham toasties and soup. We’ll probably have similar because by the time I get in at 8pm it will be too late to eat anything too heavy.
Thursday
We’re off out on Thursday for Master Frugal’s Birthday treat – we’re so excited and we haven’t even told him much about where we’re going yet but you’ll definitely be hearing about it in the next week or so!
Friday
We’re having mince and dumplings on Friday I think as I have some mince in the fridge and if I remember rightly, it has to be used by Friday.
Saturday
We’re having Quesadillas again on Saturday because we really enjoyed them last week. I have the recipe half written up so watch this space if you’re interested in knowing how I make them.
Sunday
I’m not sure about Sunday yet to be honest but I think we’ll probably have something I can fling in the slow cooker – maybe chilli as we haven’t had that for ages!
