I’m a little bit ashamed (just a little) to admit that I allowed myself a *slightly* smug smile when I thought about what my children would write in the annual ‘What I did in the Summer Holidays’ write up on the first day of school this year. We’ve done so much these holidays that I thought they would be able to choose a few choice examples each to show what a great time they’ve had, making me look like a fantastic parent at the same time.
So I indulged myself by asking them both what they would write about if they were asked what they’ve been up to in the last six weeks or so and I can’t say that I was impressed by the answers!
It appears that Miss Frugal’s favourite moment of the Summer holidays was learning what a Vajazzle was following a trip to Brighton and a rather enthusiastic shop sign!
Closely followed by making Jen do a drive by (twice) of the the Duchess of Cambridge’s parents house to see if we could see Prince George through the bushes. We made her drive past the gates very slowly twice and considering the heavy police presence, I’m pretty sure that she’s going to be on some sort of naughty list somewhere now 😉
Master Frugal’s recollection of the holidays so far is better and worse than Miss Frugal’s at the same time. If you ask him what he remembers most about the holidays, he says the best bit so far has been having fun – nothing specific, just having fun in general.
And now we’re on to the last week and the back to school countdown has started. I have a week off and we’re determined to fit in as much fun as we can before school starts again.
I hope you’ve all had as much fun as we have these Summer Holidays and that you’re taking full advantage of the last few days of the holidays.
