Last Wednesday we went along to the Newcastle Metro Radio Arena to watch the Newcastle leg of the current WWE Live Wrestlemania Revenge tour and we had a brilliant night!
I don’t know what it is about the wrestling because personally, I don’t watch it on TV and I’m not interested in watching it at any other time but watching it live is a whole other matter. I’m not sure if it’s the fact that the WWE superstars are right there in front of me or if it’s the electric atmosphere that the crowd create or even the sheer amazement on Master Frugal’s face when the wrestlers are introduced that makes me enjoy it so much but I do know that it’s been one of my favourite family nights out and I wouldn’t miss it for the world.
Master Frugal knows his wrestlers and was more than happy to give me a quick overview of each wrestler as they came out and walked to the ring. He even told me who I was allowed to like and who I had to boo and when I forgot, I got a quick reminded in the form of a poke in the arm. 😉
My favourite wrestler is Goldust because we met him last year and he was so lovely to Master Frugal, singling him out and making sure he said Happy Birthday to him even though there were ‘celebrities’ and a footballer in the room with us (the cast of Geordie Shore are totally celebs, right).
The reason for me liking my second favourite wrestler, the Miz, is a much more superficial reason I’m afraid, it’s because he looks very good in his wrestling costume.
Apart from my favourite wrestlers, I’m now able to identify most of the other guys but this time there were a few new people incorporated into the show (by new, I just mean new to me) and it was great to see some new talent mixed in with the old favourites. New or old though, the wrestlers are all great at knowing how to excite and entertain a crowd and it’s easy to see why people love watching the sport so much. In contrast, I was at the football the night before with Master Frugal and it was cold, miserable and ended with a bad result which put a downer on the night. I know which one I’d prefer….
Whether you’re a fan of wrestling or you just fancy a good night’s entertainment, I’d genuinely recommend trying to get to WWE Live Wrestlemania Revenge if you can – you might surprise yourself.
