A couple of years ago, I shared some photos from our visit to the lovely Wynyard Hall gardens but because of the time of year we visited, the gardens weren’t at their best. Today, I wanted to share some pictures of the gardens in the Summer…
A couple of week’s ago on Instagram, I shared a post about how much I’m enjoying taking photos of all things plants and flowers lately. It appears that Miss Frugal not only read this post but actually took note because yesterday, she actually got up early and suggested that we head to Wynyard Hall Gardens for the morning – just the two of us.
I had a to-do list the size of my arm that I was just about to share on my Instagram stories but the thought of some one-on-one time with Miss Frugal AND the chance to take my camera to the gardens was way too tempting so I abandoned all the things I’d planned to do and we headed to Wynyard Hall Gardens together.
I’ve been to the gardens one before a couple of years ago but it a cold, grey day in May last time so as nice as they were, they weren’t as colourful as they were this time around! I had such a nice time, and took so many photos that you wouldn’t believe and lovely Miss Frugal, well she actually seemed to have a nice time wandering with me. She did stop at every bench though to check her phone. 😉
Wynyard Hall Gardens aren’t particularly big but there’s a beautiful Walled Garden to walk around filled with 135 different types of roses among other things, a Marquee Garden with lovely views of the surrounding area, an Edible Garden, a Farm Shop, a cute little home interiors shop and a Café.
Entrance for adults is £6 per person but that gives you as many visits as you want over a year so it’s well worth it for us as we’ll definitely be back.
I know this is probably of no interest to about 99% of you but I enjoyed our little visit so much and really wanted to share some of my photos…
We’re planning to go back next week with a picnic. 😉
